We found out in the end of the last book that Gwen had to find the Helheim Dagger, the last piece of the puzzle that would free Loki from his prison. Jennifer gives you a little bit of everything, a budding romance that you can cheer for, an adorable and resilient main character, a cast of lovable secondary characters and an overall mystery that will keep you glued to the pages. Whether we wield a 2H weapon or two singles doesn't even play into that problem. If anything, I'm surprised Unholy wasn't the Dual-Wield spec, since they're traditionally into wet noodle-esque attacks and haste, and even Blood can have some Parry-Riposte-y defensive feel if dual-wielding. This chapter in Gwen's life was, if nothing else, a weight lifted off her shoulders. Good thing the story was so interesting that this could be taken in stride and wasn't too big a mark down for the overall book.
